Before I started both collecting and dealing art, I hoarded movie posters. It was a natural fit, having spent nearly a decade working at the Sundance Film Festival, with my first position there involving putting up and taking down posters across the multiple venues of the festival. My years as a projectionist at art-house cinema’s also drove an interest and access to posters that came through the theaters. I imagine that some of my stash is rare and others are probably long forgotten, but just like vinyl records were a conduit to creativity offering a deeper connection through artistic collaboration, so too are the efforts to market films, some of which helped steer a deeper appreciation towards the visual arts.
