I am an accomplished, innovative and dependable arts leader specializing in contemporary art and digital media, with additional experience in public art, multidisciplinary arts and design. I have built several art and creative ventures into successful, reputable organizations across both public/private business models. My expertise includes art curating, exhibition design, project and event management, community development, industrial design/fabrication, video editing, writing, marketing and problem solving. I have an extremely strong work ethic consistently applied to all endeavors I’ve been involved in, with an ongoing commitment to collaboration, inclusivity and arts engagement.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Plus Gallery
Owner and Director
Founded in 2001 

  • Founded a celebrated contemporary art gallery with a focus on reputable artist representation, distinguished art exhibitions and experimental forums including film and performance mediums.

  • Developed a consistent, industry leading press profile of exceptional merit, including recognition as “Gallery of the Year” by Denver Post art critic Kyle MacMillan in 2009. 

  • Designed and authored all associated marketing materials for exhibitions and special events in support of leading artists within the program, as well as comprehensive print publications, press releases and artist essays

  • Maintained a successful communications newsletter with specific focus on diverse community events and long term client cultivation.

  • Integrated long term internship program in support of growth and learning for students and others seeking opportunity within a gallery context. 

  • Completed a distinguished renovation of a historic property in the River North Arts District as a home for the operation and distinguished space to host exhibitions.

  • Served as guest curator and lecturer for numerous ancillary exhibitions with institutions throughout Colorado and the Western Region (comprehensive list available upon request).

  • Sustained progressive special live events programming focused on experimental music, performance and other forms of art and entertainment that cohere to the gallery’s contemporary focus.

  • Established an innovative, new media based nonprofit arts organization in support of an international network of digital animation and motion artists.

  • Instituted world leading protocols on integration of digital motion art with outdoor LED displays as public art, with special emphasis in supporting youth education and early development.

  • Lead designer and author of effective brand, marketing materials, pitch decks, promotional content, press releases, print publications, website, artist interviews and constituent communications.

  • Developed a consistent and robust press profile in support of the organization’s programming and numerous public events.

  • Pioneered the distinguished, annual Supernova Digital Animation Festival, cultivating a global artist following and reputation.

  • Initiated an expansive slate of distinguished community partnerships with organizations that include the MCA Denver, Biennial of the Americas, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, ATLAS Institute at University of Colorado Boulder, Meow Wolf and numerous others.

  • Commissioned over 60 unique animations with leading artists from around the world, championing industry standards for fair artist compensation.

  • Developed and launched a Streaming Service in support of the Supernova festival.


Denver Theatre District
Creative Director
2009 - 2017

  • Established innovative programming concepts for a newly established Art District that supports interactive, immersive, experimental art activations and special events in downtown Denver, Colorado.

  • Curated and produced over 20 large format art billboards for key positions within the District.

  • Instituted advanced marketing protocols for motion-art presentations across six variable format public LED displays in the District.

  • Served on team that researched and devised Night Lights Denver permanent projection mapping installation on 16th Street Mall at the Daniels and Fisher Tower.

  • Designed and produced several multi-page marketing booklets to support the excellence of the  District’s events and achievements.

2008 - 2014

  • Served as Curator and Manager for Spokes, a Colorado artist competition for the commission of a major bike-themed sculpture, positioned for 3 years outside the McNichols Civic Center in Denver, with final permanent location at the apex of the Westend Residence Complex and Cuernavaca Park.

  • Served as Curator and Manager for USA Pro Challenge and Denver International Airport’s annual celebration of Art and Cycling. Commissioned a dozen unique artistic works utilizing the form of the bicycle each year by local artists for public display on top of baggage terminals at DIA through years 2011 - 2014.

  • Served on the Denver Mayor’s Commission for Cultural Affairs, influencing several public art commissions through the commission process.

Sundance Institute and Film Festival
Presentation Manager and Print Traffic Coordinator

  • Managed quality of all film presentations for venues across five cities/regions that encompass the annual Sundance Film Festival.

  • Interacted with filmmakers from around the world, in high-pressure situations to guarantee quality of film screenings.

  • Led a staff of 10 volunteers within the technical department for control and transport of 35mm film prints for all festival screenings.

  • Directed, wrote and produced a series of three promotional trailers for the 1999 edition of the Sundance Film Festival, in collaboration with two members of the print Traffic Staff.
