The renovation was in collaboration with architect Steve Chucovich and Douglas Construction. Initiated prior to the market crash and subsequent global recession of 2008, it was a miracle that the project ever came to full fruition, let alone was maintained for the next five years at the forefront of the River North Arts District. The dramatic changes that altered the relatively pleasant nature of that neighborhood, including the onslaught of graffiti throughout the district, made it easier to part with a property that was as distinct and rare as any in all of Denver. Few witnessed the interior of the residence, the most unusual and invigorating I’ve had the opportunity to live in. The attributes of the original structure, which previously housed giant tanks of resin, made for an oddly private space that was filled with light from well positioned windows.
